NoT what I was expecting for Xmas
Last week I had my bi-annual pap smear test and got a bad result -CIN-3, there is no studying for these as I have found out. A message from the doctor late on Thursday night during knitting was not what I would wish on anyone.
So visits to the Doctor, blood tests, ultrasounds and a visit to a Oncology Gynaecologist today. I had a biopsy taken from my cervix and there were quite a few abnormal cells present, but all is ok for the moment but I have booked to have a Leep in February next year. It is all pre cancerous and I am relieved that I have a great GP and access to good medical service.
I have been quite freaked out by the whole thing and now feel quite relieved that I am on a course of getting it sorted out. My poor blood pressure is not so good and that is now freaking out my GP.
Back to normal transmission later.....
oh lots of knitting has been done

*hugs* for you MissFee.
Keeping you in my thoughts!
I'm relieved things are not worse, but still concerned they need further attention. I'm also pleased your GP is following things up so assiduously.
Thank goodness that you got it in time. Hugs to you and I hope your blood pressure doesnt go too high being stressed out over it. Just think how much better you will feel when everything is sorted out. Maybe more knitting to keep the stress levels down!
oh this is not fun! All I can offer is that I had this about 12 years ago and with the laser surgery to remove the cells, nothing has ever come back!
Sending you much love and sympathy. So good that they caught it at an early stage but not good that you have to go through it. Look after yourself.
eep!
*hugs and good thoughts*
Scary, but what a relief that it's been caught early.
Knit much and look after yourself!
*hugs* It's good that you got it pre-cancerous. I know it's scary, I went through it a few years ago. And with the Leep I've been clear ever since. My thoughts are with you and much hugs.
bloody hell Miss Fee. Sounds bloody horrible. And stressful and NOT what anyone would want for Christmas. Thinking of you and praising the GP who was onto it double quick time.
Oh lovey, this sucks, am so sorry to hear this. But glad you have the dreaded pap smears (I do HATE THEM) and can have this checked out. If you need a knitting buddy over the next while I'm around pretty much all the time xx
I've been thru this - and was told that is the equivalent of having a sus mole removed from your skin - not cancer, but a chance of turning into it so better to take it out earlier rather than later.
the bad news is that you have to have pap smears twice as often as anyone else... (yearly - ycik)
the bright side - all the papsmears i have had since going "under the knife" in '05 have been clear - fingers crossed you get a smilar result :)
Ick...sorry this has happened but good to hear the GP is so prompt in following it up.
Sending you hugs and positive thoughts Miss Fee!!
Jesus fee,not what I was expecting to read either. So sorry to hear about this and so glad you are in good hands. Will be thinking of you this Christmas kxx
So sorry to hear, but at least you caught this at an early stage. Will be thinking of you and sending heaps of non-stressed positive energy!
Oh gosh! Sending positive thoughts your way <3
Positive thoughts for you and your BP from over here in snowy Nottingham. I'm sure you'll cope beautifully once you haven't just had the news drop on you out of the blue, and your BP'll settle again with the yoga!
Smears and LEEP etc are great for as gingernut says, catching that mole before it has the chance to turn!
xx
Sending good thoughts from the Gold Coast Fee. Hope we catch up with you after Xmas. Try and relax - you've done the right thing and caught it early.
Hugs!
oh, I just saw this! I'm glad they caught it early. Hope things continue to progress well.
