Thanks so much for all your kind supportive comments and stories- I don't feel quite so bad today.
We are waiting to hear final definite answers but it looks like everything will be put back a bit- this gives us breathing room and time to sort out what we want to do.
I can't wait to get to knitting tonight to debrief (or not depending of the patience of knitters for more boring property stories) and drink champagne - sadly the bubbles were off last night :( that dreaded heat the summer before last made vinegar of my moet, at least it was only one small bottle and there were makings of martini in the house to compensate......

Fee, hope all is getting better. This whole house business never quite seems to run as smoothly as they indicate it will!
