Boxes

So today there was a serious dent made in the packing.  I couldn't move the move date as the removalist was booked for Friday so Saturday it is.

I cleaned out the the shed and then front room and proceeded to fill it with packed boxes.

Huge thanks to Jody for the load of boxes yesterday.

Out of the shed came this chair, it was my Nona's it was know as the telephone chair as it sat next to the telephone in her house.  Back when it was hers it had a buttercup yellow Jacquard fabric cover - not the ugly 80's pink brocade it has at the moment.  I am not sure what I would cover it in when it does eventually get recovered - I am quite nostalgic for the yellow but that is not my colour at all....

p.s. hint of hints we are getting really close to 900

Well done on the packing!

Putting a house worths of stuff in boxes is a really laborious and sometimes mentally exhausting task.

It's great having things from your grandparents - I have my grandmother's telephone table (which is actually a desk) and her old gramophone cabinet, which I love.

I think you should go for yellow upholstery - it's not like you have to wear it! It'll be your little ray of sunshine chair!

Miles of boxes!

I like the chair, but agree needs recovering.

I have a dressing table from one grandmother, and a sideboard from another - and think of them both when using. For me, better than jewellery from them really, as more everyday!

Glad the extra boxes are coming in handy.

I don't have anything from my grandmothers - well, I only had one and she died when I was little. But I do have quite a few things from my mothers - both the adopted and the natural one - that I treasure. It's a lovely chair.

Hope all goes well on Saturday. At least it won't be the 40° heat we had and hopefully will be fine.
