Boxes

So today there was a serious dent made in the packing.  I couldn't move the move date as the removalist was booked for Friday so Saturday it is.

I cleaned out the the shed and then front room and proceeded to fill it with packed boxes.

Huge thanks to Jody for the load of boxes yesterday.

Out of the shed came this chair, it was my Nona's it was know as the telephone chair as it sat next to the telephone in her house.  Back when it was hers it had a buttercup yellow Jacquard fabric cover - not the ugly 80's pink brocade it has at the moment.  I am not sure what I would cover it in when it does eventually get recovered - I am quite nostalgic for the yellow but that is not my colour at all....

p.s. hint of hints we are getting really close to 900

Good news

Just to be clear
we are still buying our house - and we are so excited

there is some sorting out of who is financing said purchase

both the owners of our new house and our landlords have given us a months grace

so now we have the time to sort out the best way forward for us, and we have the time now to do this

so box count is none this weekend as now I can take a week off around the move so this bit of stress is alleviated

the sad bit is that it is probably the Bendigo weekend is the weekend we are moving.....

snap

this article about what sort of mover are you featured today on Apartment Therapy.

I am really a mix of the two styles of mover - I am a really orgainised packer - I will have it all done by the end of Monday - except the bits we will use throughout the week.  Then Friday night I will work out the final bits and have them packed and ready for the movers at lunch on Saturday.
I write on boxes where they go and a brief summary of what is inside - that way I can put my hand on things if we need them before, during or after the move.

The cats are going to the vets for one or two nights-  so we don't have to worry about them running away and just to really confuse them.  They are most upset at the moment anyway with all of the boxes and packing.

Both S.V. and I have been sorting through out stuff since before Xmas - we pick a room and then go through what we use and what we don't.  The book collection reduced by 1/2 one day in Febuary.  My wool collection by a small amount.  Our clothes we go through each season.

I am sure we will still be moving stuff that we will get rid of later but we have decided not to buy anything new for the house until we move.  I have that next week off to sort and unpack and make those trips to Ikea to fill in the gaps.

June Busy blogfest

Jody and LynS last night at knitting were talking about blogging every day in in June - Lyn
s is undergoing some huge changes, Jody is being worked way to hard and I am about to relocate houses.

I think in my mind this thought was sparked by Sally's post about ask a busy person.

So I am going to join in.   I have a weekend ahead of Yoga intensive and packing.  Yesterday I bought 80 boxes and I intend to make a big dent on the books and cds.

There are a few repairs needing to be done around the house we are moving out of - it belongs to friend's of mine who are currently living os - so before we hand it over to the new managing agent I am going to get these seen to.  This means a bit of work measuring up, making notes and then a trip to bunnings - with a list so I don't forget anything.  Dougal is coming over on Sunday to start the work and I have talked to the plumber who should be here later in the week.

Today I am off to teach the young peoples the finer details of designing for TV.  This year my classes are split in 1/2 so I have to repeat the class twice in a row.  This is quite challenging for me as I love the fresh approach and by the second class last week I was flagging a bit.  They were the quieter class and I think I just need to treat each class differently.

Oh and I bought some more yarn from the wonderful Knitabulous - damn I wish I had bought the two skeins of hollywood not just one....

and I am lazy and pinched the image from the etsy site
